The port call
Watermans plans the arrival before the yacht sails, taking the tide, bridge lift, berth and pilot together, and issues a written estimate the same working day. The berth is booked against length, beam and draught: in London the tiers through London Cruise and Yacht, elsewhere with the marina or the harbour authority.
Pilots are booked with the port authority where pilotage is compulsory, and Tower Bridge lifts are requested in writing twenty-four hours ahead. The pleasure craft report is submitted before the yacht sails, crew joining or leaving are signed on or off, and harbour and light dues are paid and reconciled on the account.
Fuel is arranged at a fuel berth, from a barge or by road tanker, according to the port. Water, shore power and waste are booked with the berth. A director attends on the quay at arrival and at departure.
Before arrival Watermans needs the yacht’s length, beam, draught and air draught, the ETA, the crew and guest list with passport details, the certificate of registry, the insurance certificate and the last port clearance.

Owners, guests and crew
Transfers for crew, guests and principals are arranged by car, with close protection where instructed. Private aircraft are handled through the fixed base operator at Farnborough, Biggin Hill, Southampton, Bournemouth, Exeter or Newquay, and helicopters through London Heliport at Battersea.
Hotels ashore are booked for crew and guests. Electronic Travel Authorisations and visas are handled through a specialist where required, and medical and dental appointments are made with private clinics.

Provisions, stores and parcels
Provisions are sourced from the London wholesale markets and specialist suppliers and delivered alongside, with dietary and allergen requirements taken from the order. Wines and spirits are supplied under bond where the yacht’s status allows.
Flowers, laundry, and deck and engineering stores are collected and delivered alongside. Parcels and pallets are received, held and brought to the yacht, and spares arriving from abroad are cleared through customs.
Watermans sources the impossible part, delivered when you need it.
Supplier costs pass through at the supplier’s figure, with the invoice attached. Watermans’ own time is covered by the port call fee and the rates on the fees page. Engineers, surveys and yards are on the technical page.
